Rifle Operator Course Description and Registration

SW Region Rifle Operator, July 28-30, 2020, Durango Colo.

You must be a sworn, POST-certified peace officer to attend this course.

This 3-day course, offered in Durango, will familiarize or re-familiarize the patrol officer, detective, special response team member, or other sworn Colorado Law Enforcement Officer with all aspects of the operation, basic use, and tactical deployment of the patrol carbine based on the AR-15 weapon platform.

Participants will spend time in the classroom receiving instruction in all aspects of the mechanics of the platform and its use.  They will also spend substantial time on the range developing and refining the skills they have learned in the classroom.

The course is instructed by certified instructors from the La Plata County Sheriffs Office, the Durango Police Department, and the Fort Lewis College Police Department and is authorized by Colorado POST.

This course is being provided at no cost to law officers in the SouthWest Region.  Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.  Ammunition for this course is being provided by the SouthWest Region.
